MiraCosta holds prom dress drive and giveaway (San Diego Union-Tribune)
A group of students in MiraCosta College’s theater club, the Backstage
Players, is collecting prom dresses through April 11 for a community-wide
giveaway for high school juniors and seniors on April 14 at the college. Many
of the dresses come from the wardrobe closets of the Moonlight Amphitheatre in
Vista and will be part of the Vintage Chic Boutique that students are creating
for the giveaway. Dresses will be given on a first come, first served basis
and be tried on at the site. Shopping assistance will be offered. Local high
school juniors and seniors with valid ID are welcome. Dresses are free, but
donations are appreciated. Proceeds benefit Backstage Players Theatre Club.
The giveaway is noon to 3 p.m. at MiraCosta College Theatre Building 2000 in
the Makeup Room, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. For information on donating,
