How To Dress Well If You're A Man
Many men want to look good and dress well, but just aren't sure of how to do it. Unlike women, they don't feel as comfortable looking through fashion magazines and openly admitting to noticing trends. If fashion is stumping you, this guide may be able to help you.
Purchase a really nice pair of trousers that can be worn to work and on dates. Look for trousers that have a really good fit and do not sag anywhere. When wearing pants, never let the waist hang down below your lower hip or waist.
While you're shopping for new trousers, be sure to check out how they have been cut. You need to avoid tapered trousers, since they are generally quite unflattering, especially on larger men. To tell if a pair of pants are tapered, fold them vertically. If the ankle of the pant is skinnier than the thigh, that means they are tapered.
Straight leg and boot cut pants are generally quite flattering on most men. To check for a straight leg, look for pants that have an equal width at the thigh and ankle. A boot cut pant will be slightly flared at the ankle.
When jean shopping, avoid the jean skinny. These do not flatter the majority of men, but can work for incredibly young men who are also quite thin. Also, these jeans can be extremely uncomfortable and may sag as the day goes by. Instead, just stick to boot cut and straight leg jeans.
Purchase some well fitting button up shirts and T-shirts. These should not be baggy, but they also should not be clingy. Instead of buying only neutrals, like black or white, invest in colors, like dark purples and deep greens.
Accessorizing is important. A leather watch will go a long way, since it can be worn to work and out on a date. Leather bands also last a very long time and now come in many colors, so there are many to choose from.
Buy a men's sport watch too. This kind of watch will look good when you are exercising and it will also go with your casual outfits.
