Caring For Your Underwear Needs A Little TLC
Special things need special care. And the greater care we take, the longer our special things will last and the more enjoyment we’ll get from them. It’s the same story with our delicates and underwear. We all like to be treated with care – and the same goes for our underwear.
Putting your delicates through the torture of a washing machine is like leaving a beautiful bouquet in a tornado. The lashing winds will batter the fragile petals leaving them damaged and useless. It’ll be the same story with your delicate underwear. Imagine delicate lace and satin ribbon sharing the wild waters of your washing machine with your heavy duty denim and dirty dishcloths. You may be happy with some rough treatment but your under garments certainly aren’t. A gentle hand is what it takes.
You may be raising the temperature with sexy underwear, but when it comes to washing it, you need to cool things down. If you’re using a washing machine for your delicates, always use cold water, preferably on the delicate cycle.
And to avoid carnage in the machine, use a mesh bag with a drawstring to keep your intimates separate. These come in different sizes and can be bought from a grocery store. This will prevent your delicate items from being damaged by rough fabrics, hard zips and buttons etc. This will also prevent details such as diamante accessories on a sexy corset or lace on a g-string from being damaged. This will also avoid pulled threads on woolen garments from the hooks on a bra strap. If they’re not kept in the confines of a mesh bag, bra straps can also become so twisted and stretched that the bra becomes unwearable.
Another enemy of lingerie is Velcro. If there’s Velcro in the machine, Murphy’s Law says your lovely lingerie will attach itself….Before long, you’ll be hearing that tearing sound as you try and prise your knickers from the clutches of the Velcro!
Follow these guidelines when caring for your luscious lingerie:
· Always read the washing instructions on the label
· Don’t overdo the detergent and try and soak items for a little while
· A gentle hand rub is all that’s required and then a thorough rinse to get rid of any soap
· If possible, dry items flat
· Try and avoid using a tumble dryer if possible as this can lead to shrinkage of your lingerie
· Direct sunlight can bring out the white in pure cotton, but take care not to leave it for too long
· Avoid hanging bras by the straps as they will stretch
Buying lingerie or being given stunning lingerie is a treat. When you’re wearing it, you feel special So it worthwhile taking the time to care for it properly so the pleasure lasts longer. When it comes to caring for your racy satin teddy, sexy panties or exotic corset, take care so that you feel (and look) gorgeous for longer.
