In addition to finding great deals on winter items, such as coats, gloves and hats, you can often find waterproof brown boots, fun multi-colored snow boots, red rain boots or any other kind of boot that suits your child’s fancy. You can outfit your baby, toddler or preschooler in winter gear for between $10 and $20. Baby Furniture Galore
Cribs, strollers and baby carriers are also plentiful at most children’s consignment stores. A word of caution when purchasing a crib for your baby. Be sure that the slats are no more than 2-3/8 inches apart. New cribs conform to this standard, but some older cribs do not. Take your tape measure and do not buy a crib, no matter how much of a deal it seems to be, that fails to meet this standard. This could be a life or death decision and your baby is counting on you to do the right thing.
Clothing For The Pre-Teen Set
Larger sizes are more difficult to find at thrift shops because children from about age seven to age 10 or 12 wear the clothing out before outgrowing it. But, you can sometimes find good used jeans and shirts for girls and boys. Occasionally, you may even discover a pop star t-shirt your child would love to wear.
