Discussing The Issue Of Whether To Take Bed Linen When Holidaying In A Motorhome
When going on a camping holiday the majority of us will take a sleeping bag as our only form of bed linen. The reason for this is that we don’t have the space to pack the extra bedding items; nor do we need to extra weight to carry in the event that we have to hike to our camping spot. However, whilst going holidaying in a camper van is in the same spirit as camping, there are of course some differences. Read on to discover the pros and cons of taking bed linen when going away in your motorhome.
The pros
The most obvious advantage of taking bed linen with you in your motorhome is that it will provide you with additional comfort. If you are camping in a tent then you are somewhat exposed to the elements, meaning that warmth is the key concern. A motorhome provides much more protection and warmth won’t usually be an issue, so you can afford to demand a little more comfort.
The practicalities
In practical terms taking bed linen when camping in a tent isn’t really that sensible. The first issue is that it can prove difficult to fasten an under sheet to your roll mattress – that is if you are carrying one. The second issue is that sheets and duvets are simply too big to be messing about with them inside a cramped tent. It is much easier to fit bed linen in a motorhome as they are more spacious and usually have a double bed in the back.
Duration of trip
Whilst you will normally only camp in a tent for a few nights; motorhome holidays tend to last for at least a week. Sacrificing some comfort isn’t that big a deal when only going away for a few nights. However, if you are going to be a way for a longer period then you don’t want to go for too long without getting a decent night’s sleep. Overall we feel that the benefits of taking bed linen on a motorhome holiday are obvious and that there is no good reason not to.
