PETA Responds to Kanye West’s Controversial “Theraflu” Line (Vibe)
While Kanye West’s “Theraflu” has been a contagious banger since its release
last night, the Hit-Boy produced track is catching more than just a cold.
The animal rights group PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals
organization) has addressed West’s lyrical jab, “Tell PETA my mink is draggin’
on the floor.” In a statement sent to XXLMag.com, PETA’s Senior Vice President
Dan Matthews fired back with a loaded response.
“What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy
for animals or human beings,” said Matthews. “He’s a great musician but
doesn’t seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman
costumes. We keep hoping that one day he’ll find his heart and join evolved
style icons—including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman—who have
dropped animal skins.”
This isn’t the first time the Chi-town rapper has been called out for his fur-
loving ways. In January 2010, Matthews lashed out on West and then-girlfriend
Amber Rose for rocking long fur coats during Paris Fashion Week.
“Kanye can’t help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an awards show
or a fashion show,” PETA’S Matthews told the UK’s _Daily …
